Connected 32 radials to
DX Engineering stainless steel radial plate. The radials
range in length from 15 to 30 feet. The bottom tube of the
Butternut
HF6V vertical antenna slides over the white fiberglass
post. |

Details of 75/80 meters base
matching coil, which is used to lower the VSWR on 75/80
meters. The better the ground system, the more the coil has
to be stretched. (The coil may look homemade, but it is
shipped with the HF6V.) |

HF6V Coil/Capacitor Assemblies
|
The HF6V contains
coil/capacitor assemblies for 80, 40, and 30 meters. The
large bottom coil determines the 80 meter resonance
frequency, the second coil affects 40 meter operation, and
the offset third coil is used on 30 meters. The HF6V's total
length is 26 feet. |
|
HF6V 30 Meter Capacitor Assembly
|
The 30 meter capacitor is
bridged between the 30 meter coil on the left and the upper
portion of the HF6V. The outer two screws are fastened to a
fiberglass strip, which acts as an insulator while providing
mechanical support. |
