It's been quite a few weeks, and it's probably safe to say everyone has a few more until they're in the clear. The club has been busy, but we have several things to bring everyone up to speed on.
First, regularly scheduled practices will continue to be held during the last two weeks of the semester. This includes Monday from 7p-9p on the 18th and 25th, as well as Thursday from 10:30a-12:30p on the 21st and 28th. Practices will NOT be held during finals week. If you are storing a personal firearm in the armory, you must remove it and find other storage for it during the summer unless you specifically speak with the President or Academic Adviser of the club for other arrangements.
Next, the Rifle Team did a great job at Nationals this year! Both the air and smallbore teams placed 9th of ten teams, and our individual smallbore competitor, John Cannaday, placed 26th of thirty shooters. Overall, Purdue placed 8th in total team aggregate score, and had three shooters place in 19th, 20th, and 21st in total individual aggregate score. Congratulations to everyone who traveled and competed- you all did a great job and we're looking forward to seeing how you do next year!
Lastly, the club is holding end-of-year elections at practice this Monday in the armory. If you are an active member in the club and are planning to continue to do so next year, you may apply for any one of a number of officer or chair positions in the club. Email johnsojc@purdue.edu or purduerpc@gmail.com for more info.
That's about it for now- thanks to everyone for being a part of this club, and we're looking forward to what we can get accomplished in the next year.
