The club is planning a trip to Jasper-Pulaski on Saturday, April 18 and May 2.If you're interested in joining us, please send Corey an e-mail with your name and let him know if you will be driving or riding with us. We're planning on leaving from the Armory at 9:30am and wont be back until around dinner time.
This is a great opportunity to shoot something larger than a .22. Don't have a firearm of your own? No worries. Many of the club's members have more firearms than they can shoot at once and will be happy to share.
Things you will need to bring:
-Weather appropriate clothing
-Money for ammo and to help pay for gas
-Something to eat/drink/money for food
-Targets
-Anything you think you might need for being in the middle of nowhere for an afternoon with nothing but a portapotty.
You'll somehow have to buy your own ammo. The Wal-Marts in town sell out hours after they're restocked, so unless you call them and find out when they get their shipments in, getting it there will be difficult. Dick's in the mall stocks ammo as well, and they usually have some stuff. There's also Applied Ballistics and Guns and Gear. I would recommend trying to find it online, but be prepared to search for a couple hours. Also keep in mind that you can possess pistol ammo at 18, but you can't buy it from a store until you're 21. If you're looking to get pistol ammo and you're not 21, find a club member that is and see if they can help you out. People are bringing guns in various calibers, so here's a list of ammo to look for:
PISTOL
9mm
40 S&W
45 ACP
.44 Mag (maybe)
RIFLE
.223
7.62X39
.308 (maybe)
Please feel free to e-mail Corey if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!

There will be a firearms information session on Thursday, April 16th at 6:00 P.M. in room 102 of the Armory. The meeting will answer some of life's most important questions, such as "What is an assault weapon?"
and "What exactly does 'semi-automatic' mean?". There will be MANY examples of rifles, pistols, and shotguns, most of which come from our own personal collections. If you enjoy learning about guns and are sick of looking at .22 LR examples, this is your chance to see some REAL firearms.
PLEASE invite your friends, since deep down (pretty much) everyone thinks firearms are intriguing.
A flier with more information and directions to the meeting can be downloaded here. Right click the link and hit "Save As" for best results.
Hope to see you there!

You will need to somehow buy your own ammo. We'll probably swing by Walmart on our way out - you can buy some there, if the rest of the club hasn't cleaned them out already. Some of our members buy their ammo in bulk and can sell you some of theirs directly at the range - this is more common for foreign calibers in foreign guns. What calibers you shoot and how much you shoot is completely at your discretion. If you're not sure what to buy, common choices for rifles include .308 Winchester, .223 Remington, and 7.62x39. Good handgun choices are 9x19mm and .45 ACP; you have to be 21 to buy handgun ammo.
Please feel free to e-mail Corey if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!

Ever wanted to shoot something more exciting than the .22s we use in the Armory? On Saturday, September 21st, we're driving up to Jasper-Pulaski for the day to shoot all our personal guns in all calibers. This is a great chance to try out new and different firearms that we don't normally have a chance to shoot, and get a feel for different calibers. You'll need to be at the armory ready to go at 9:30am that morning, and don't expect to be back until around dinner time (unless you can make plans to leave with a driver who's leaving early). If you're interested in going or have questions, email Corey.Read this forum thread for more IMPORTANT details and discussion about the trip.
Ever wanted to shoot a machine gun, watch a massive night-time machine gun shoot with tracers, or walk through one of the largest Class III/militaria shows in the US? Chris is looking for people interested in going to the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot in Westpoint, KY, on Saturday, October 11. It's an amazing trip! Plan on leaving early in the morning on Satuday and getting home very early in the morning on Sunday. Admission is $10, plus gas and food costs, and money to buy stuff/shoot machine guns.
Email Chris if you're curious/interested, or discuss here.
