EFFECTIVE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2008 THROUGH THE END OF THE FALL 2008 SEMESTER

Circumstances beyond our control have forced a change in our Monday practice schedule. For the rest of the semester, please adhere to the following timetable for Monday night practices:

Before 7:15pm: DO NOT - for any reason - enter the drill floor of the Armory before 7:15pm. If you arrive before this, enter the Armory through the front doors and hang out in the lobby or our room in the basement. Do not enter from the back or side doors and walk across the drill floor.

7:15pm: Rifle and Pistol Club members may begin to set up QUIETLY on the western (backstop) side of the drill floor. Do not interrupt or distract the ROTC class on the east half of the drill floor. Do not walk across or put any equipment on their side.

7:30pm: The ROTC class will leave the drill floor. We will immediately secure the floor and begin the "going hot" procedures.

8:30pm: Expect a cease-fire around this time.

9:30pm: Practice is over. We need to be packed up, cleaned up, and completely off the drill floor by this time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us and ask. We understand this new schedule is different from what we've thus far advertised to our members. If you've already paid club dues for this semester/year and this change is unacceptable to you, please see our treasurer Andrew at practice and we'll gladly refund your dues.

We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

UPDATED 8/26/08: There will be no practices before the callout as our officers prepare for the coming year. Existing members from previous years are encouraged to attend the callout to supervise and help the new attendees; please do not expect to shoot, since the focus is entirely on new members.

Normal scheduled practices should resume starting Wednesday, Sep. 10th at 10:30 AM. Keep watching this space in case anything changes...again.

There will be no practice this Wednesday or Thursday, September 19th and 20th, due to an Engineering event on the drill floor.

There will also be no practice on Thursday, October 18th due to a housing fair on the drill floor.

There will be no practice this Thursday, 19 April, due to something else happening on the drill floor.

Starting tomorrow, Wed March 21:

If you shoot at practice, you must help clean up brass before you leave. If you have to leave before practice is over, plan enough time before you leave that you can walk behind the firing line and safely pick up brass that has ejected behind it.

Of late, too few people have been cleaning up brass, to the point that advisors and people who didn't shoot at all have had to clean it up; this is both poor sportsmanship and rude to fellow shooters. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this new policy.
