Thursday, November 6, 2008, 01:48 PM - Other EventsWe will be heading to Jasper-Pulaski on Sunday Nov. 23 and Saturday Dec. 6.
This is a great opportunity to shoot something larger than a .22. Don't have a firearm of your own? No worries. Many of the club's members have more firearms than they can shoot at once and will be happy to share. E-mail Corey if you have questions.
If you want to go send Corey an e-mail with your name and let him know if you will be driving. In order to get the paperwork in we will need to know who is attending and who is driving by noon on Friday for the Nov. trip. For the Dec. trip, we will need to know by Wed. Nov. 19.
Be at the armory ready to go at 9:30am and don't expect to be back until around dinner. Things you will need to bring:
-Weather appropriate clothing
-Money for ammo and to help pay for gas
-Something to eat/drink/money for food
-Anything you think you might need for being in the middle of nowhere for an afternoon with nothing but a portapotty.
You will need to somehow buy your own ammo. We'll probably swing by Walmart on our way out - you can buy some there, if the rest of the club hasn't cleaned them out already. Some of our members buy their ammo in bulk and can sell you some of theirs directly at the range - this is more common for foreign calibers in foreign guns. What calibers you shoot and how much you shoot is completely at your discretion. If you're not sure what to buy, common choices for rifles include .308 Winchester, .223 Remington, and 7.62x39. Good handgun choices are 9x19mm and .45 ACP; you have to be 21 to buy handgun ammo.

Wednesday, September 17, 2008, 07:23 PM - PracticeEFFECTIVE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2008 THROUGH THE END OF THE FALL 2008 SEMESTER
Circumstances beyond our control have forced a change in our Monday practice schedule. For the rest of the semester, please adhere to the following timetable for Monday night practices:
Before 7:15pm: DO NOT - for any reason - enter the drill floor of the Armory before 7:15pm. If you arrive before this, enter the Armory through the front doors and hang out in the lobby or our room in the basement. Do not enter from the back or side doors and walk across the drill floor.
7:15pm: Rifle and Pistol Club members may begin to set up QUIETLY on the western (backstop) side of the drill floor. Do not interrupt or distract the ROTC class on the east half of the drill floor. Do not walk across or put any equipment on their side.
7:30pm: The ROTC class will leave the drill floor. We will immediately secure the floor and begin the "going hot" procedures.
8:30pm: Expect a cease-fire around this time.
9:30pm: Practice is over. We need to be packed up, cleaned up, and completely off the drill floor by this time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us and ask. We understand this new schedule is different from what we've thus far advertised to our members. If you've already paid club dues for this semester/year and this change is unacceptable to you, please see our treasurer Andrew at practice and we'll gladly refund your dues.
We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
