During the summer of 2005, RCAC purchased and installed (or rather, had installed) a new ADIC Scalar 10K tape library. As currently configured, our library has storage for about 6600 tapes and 36 LTO-II tape drives, giving it a capacity of about 1.3PB. For those not familiar, a petabyte (PB) is approximately one million gigabytes. Our library is nicknamed robbie.
