How Do I Join the Purdue Waterski Club?

1. The Red Tape

For safety and insurance reasons, you must first fill out the following forms.  The first form is a general information sheet that tells us a little more about you.  The second form is a hold-harmless agreement for the Waterski Club and the University.  Lastly, you must become a collegiate member of USA Waterski for insurance purposes.  This costs only $25 for the entire year, and allows up to $100,000 medical liability if you were to be involved in a skiing related accident.  All forms must be given to a club officer once completed.

2-     Lake Rules

3-  Hold Harmless Agreement

4-  USA Waterski Membership ; Note: When filling in the online form, "Team Name" is Purdue University and "Sports Discipline" is Collegiate.  After filling out the form online, it is very important to print out the verification page and have it with you the first time you want to ski.  Otherwise you have to wait for them to mail you your membership card.

2. So what's this going to cost me?

Club Membership Dues:

To be able to pay for our boat and boat insurance, along with other expenses, the club has an initial membership fee of $35 per member.  Checks can be made out to Purdue Waterski Club.

Boat Gas:

A “gas pass” may be purchased for $12 and is good for 5 pulls tricking, skiing, wakeboarding, or any combination thereof.  One pull is equal to about 6-8 slalom passes, or 10-12 minutes tricking or boarding (always depends on how many other people are waiting to ski).

3. How do I stay updated of what is going on with the club?

You can find a list of the current officers and their e-mail addresses on contact info page of the website or just click here.

Where is this ski office and when will someone be there?

The ski office is in room 16A in the basement of Stewart Center.  For specific directions and a schedule of when officers will be there, visit the contact info page of the website or click here.

How do I get to Lake Purdue, can I get a ride, and when will boat drivers be at the lake?

It takes about 15 minutes to drive to the lake.  Directions and a driver schedule can be found on the website on the driver schedule page or click here.  If you are interested in getting a ride or giving a ride to the lake, there is also a link on the driver schedule page that leads to a ride board where you can find other people who want to go to the lake at the same time as you.  Check it out!

How can I become more involved in the club and meet more people?

If you would like to volunteer your talents to help out on a committee, contact Chris Godfrey (cgodfrey@purdue.edu).  Finally, feel free to drop by the office during the hours listed and meet some of the other club members.
