Students new to Purdue will find SSINFO a valuable tool as they begin their college careers. SSINFO is a web site full of valuable academic and financial information. This description of SSINFO will explain its major features and highlight some of the more useful links. SSINFO can be accessed at
The opening screen has two toolbars full of links. The first is the black bar near the top of the page. While using this toolbar is not discouraged, we will focus more on the tan-colored toolbar located on the left side of the screen. Click on a bold heading to see the options located within it. Locks located to the left of the link mean the user must be logged in to access these items.
There are two options to log into SSNFO. On the black bar there is a
link or simply click on an option with a lock(
) next to it in the left toolbar. Both will take the user to the login prompt. First time users should read the gray box on this page for more detailed instructions. Once logged in, the locks will open(
) and these items are accessible. There are a lot of choices, but most work similarly to each other. We will only discuss those more commonly used by new students such as: Class Schedule; Exam Schedule; and Change My Password.
The Class Schedule option is located under the Academic major heading. When it first comes up it defaults to Text View, which many students find difficult to read. To change this, select the session and Grid View and click Refresh. If you would like a hard copy of your schedule click Print View. To share it with others via email, enter the email address of the intended recipient and click Send E-mail. If you wish to send that person a grid format, you must check the Include HTML version box.
Exam Schedule is also located under the Academic major heading. When clicked on, it will bring up the evening exams scheduled for the classes you are enrolled in. Note that exams to be taken during the regular class meeting time will not be displayed here. You may print or send the schedule via email using the same techniques discussed above.
The Change My Password option is located under the Personal major heading. You will be prompted for your old password and then your desired new password twice. Then you must decide if you would like this change to reflect only your SSINFO account or every account using your Purdue Career Account Login.
SSINFO offers a plethora of options aimed to assist you at Purdue. Whether its what you have done in the past or have coming up in the future, SSINFO is there with what you need to know.
