GLASSNET

Professor Hertel is currently leading a project on Global to Local Analysis of Systems Sustainability (GLASS). This is a University-wide, interdisciplinary project aimed at understanding global drivers of local sustainability challenges, as well well as the regional, national and global consequences of local responses to these stresses. GLASS was one of the Big Idea Competition winners awarded by a distinguished panel of researchers in the spring of 2017. It serves as an umbrella for a variety of research projects, all of which share the approach of fine-scale analysis of sustainability issues. A new five-year, NSF-funded project, led by Hertel, dubbed GLASSNET is extending GLASS to include a network of networks. For more details, go to the GLASS web site
