Housing in the Greater Lafayette area
We are somewhat fortunate because it is relatively easy to find a place to stay in the Lafayette area.
You can live on-campus or off-campus. For information about on-campus housing please check the official Purdue website. If you are a graduate student, Hawkins Hall and the Purdue Village are your only choices for on-campus housing. You can check the Purdue website for information about their appartments, rents and what is included in the rent (so that you do not have to pay for them).
If you are planning to live off-campus you can choose the West Lafayette area or the Lafayette area. Some nice websites to check for apartments are www.boilerapartments.com and www.apartments.com
Purdue University issues a newspaper, the Purdue Exponent. You might be able to find useful information in their classifieds section in the online edition of Exponent . People post there if they have appartments or houses for rent and some Purdue students post there if they are looking for roommates.
You can also check the Purdue Newsgroups. Students looking for roommates often post there.
