Shopping and Grocery stores in the Lafayette area
You have a number of options when it comes for general shopping and grocery shopping in the Lafayette area depending on the amount of money you are willing to spend and the quality of the groceries you want.
Walmart has low prices but the quality of groceries is not great. There are two Walmart stores in the area, one in West Lafayette and one in Lafayette:
- 2801 Northwestern Ave, West Lafayette, IN 47906
- 4205 Commerce Drive, Lafayette, IN 47905
Pay Less, Target and Marsh are a bit more expensive but their quality of groceries is better.
- Pay Less Super Market: 1032 Sagamore Pky W, West Lafayette, IN 47906
- Target: 3630 State Road 26 E, Lafayette, IN 47905
- Marsh: 2410 N. Salisbury, West Lafayette, IN 47906
- Marsh: 2250 Teal Rd, Lafayette, IN 47905
Keep in mind that you can apply for a Marsh or Payless card (it is not a credit card) and with that card you will have discounts in some particular items. This card (which does not cost you anything) can make a big difference in the final amount you pay for your shopping so it is worth to have.
Sam's Club (3819 State Rd. 26 E., Lafayette) works in a slightly different way. If you want to shop from them you will have to become a member, which means that you will have to pay a fee for that. Two people can share that fee and you will both be members of Sam's Club. In this store, most items are sold in large quantities and lower prices.
For a nice collection of wines and other liquors, the best shop in the area is probably the Village Bottleshop at 404 Sagamore Parkway West. Note that they also have ouzo.
