Halloween 2009!

October 30, 2009
7:00 pmto8:15 pm

This Halloween is going to be a little different from years past. We’ll still be starting at 7pm in BRNG 2280, as always. We still encourage you to come in costume, as always. We’ll still be doing improv comedy, as always. But the Ship of Fools will not be doing an official performance–it’s all open forum. Additionally, since we know how much you all love to party on Mischief Night, we’re dismissing early, at 8:15.

Alumni Assemble!

This week is destined to be one of the most monumental moments in the momentus history of the Purdue Improvisation Club.

The build up comes slowly, with everything seeming normal. A regular Friday night Open Forum will be held in BRNG 2280 from 7pm to 9pm. The normality of routine will provide the striking contrast necessary to highlight the significance of what will follow.

Because Saturday, it is going down. Hard.

Join is us for the FIRST ever Ship of Fools ALUMNI REUNION SHOW. The show is this Saturday, October 3rd, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in MTHW 210. Past and present collide as the current Fools play host to a plethora of past players from the mythic past of our improvisational troupe.

And as usual, it’s all free!

Please come and join us for what promises to be a groundbreaking event in the history of the club. You won’t want to miss it.

Welcome Back, Boilers!

The Ship of Fools and the Purdue Improv Club extends welcoming arms to all, returning students and brand-new Boilermakers alike.

The first week of school promises to be an exciting time. As always, we’re in Beering 2280 from 7pm to 9pm on Friday nights for theĀ foreseeableĀ future.

This Friday, August 28th, the Ship of Fools will be performing at the Welcome Back Bash between the Union and Stewart from 9pm to 10pm.

Remember: Come to watch or come to perform. But always come to laugh.

The End is Nigh!

Only two more weeks of improv before we say goodbye for the summer. This thought fills all of our hearts with sadness, but be consoled by knowing that we will make it two of the most AWESOME weeks of improv ever.

Friday, April 24th is the last completely normal open forum of the semester. Come to BRNG 2280 at 7pm to watch, hang out, laugh, and/or perform! Our doors are always open.

On Friday May 1st, in BRNG 2280 at 7pm, the dead week end-of-the-year finale will take place. Experts in the field of improvisation estimate that the event will result in massive awesome shockwaves that may reach as far as Mars before dissipating. Special, rarely seen games will emerge from the shadows. Heroes will rise, legends will be made. All of your hopes and dreams can be realized in a single, epic open forum. Be there.

Spring Updates!

It’s Springtime, and we all know what that means!

Time for another Ship of Fools/Andy Ober Orchestra Collaboration Extravaganza!

Come and join us on April 4th in Matthews 210 at 7 pm to witness the unbridled humor of these two comedic forces combined.

For those unfamiliar, the AOO is a parody band of exceptional quality fronted by longtime SoF-collaborator and former Fool Andy Ober. The show is free, so there’s really no excuse for absence–except a hatred of laughter.

Friday night Open Forums contine in BRNG 2280, 7pm to 9pm.

Welcome Back!

We here at the Purdue Improv Club would like to welcome you back to another exciting semester here at Purdue University. As you can see, we’ve fixed up the website, for the most part. The events are still giving us a bit of trouble, but we’re working on that. For now, refer to here for important announcements and dates.

Schedule for the near future:

Friday Nights, 7-9pm in BRNG 2280: Open Forum meetings of the Purdue Improv Club.

Wiley show on February 26th, 8pm.

Calendar Problems

The calendar plugin has stopped playing nice with the website. Please be patient while I work on getting it fixed or replaced. Unless we note otherwise, assume that the normal weekly meetings are happening in BRNG 2280 from 7 to 9 pm on Fridays. We hope to see you there!

Halloween 2008!

October 27, 2008
2:36 pm

Get ready to do some spooky Improv this Friday as the Ship of Fools celebrates Halloween. Costumes are encouraged! The normal open forum will happen in BRNG 2280. However, this week there will be no workshop and afterward we will all be packing up and heading out for some 100% good times. Directions will be provided for those interested right after open forum.

Come hang out in costume, have a good time with good friends, and most importantly, enjoy a night full of laughs.

[Technical issues are keeping me from putting this on the calendar. Please bear with me.]

New Year, New Newspost

Hello Improvisationalists! We’d like to welcome new students, and welcome back old ones, to a new semester at Purdue University! In this time of new beginnings, fond reunions, and crushing book fees, the Improvisation Club is happy to reopen its doors.

Our first open forum of the semester will be Friday, August 29th in BRNG 2280 from 7pm to 9pm. This pattern will continue for the forseeable future.

The official callout will be September 12th in MATH 175, from 7pm to 9pm. You’ll be treated to a show by the Ship of Fools and then invited to participate/watch as open forum unfolds.

The Improv Club will be manning a table at the PSUB Activities Bonanza this Thursday, August 28th from 11am to 4pm between the Union and Stewart Center. Drop by and say hello!
