I’ve been looking for a good reading on the practical aspects of rest. There are a few chapters in the book from last week that address the topic
It’s a lot longer than our normal readings, but I figured we could just skim through and hopefully extract some nuggets of wisdom and/or fodder for discussion. Most of the reading touches on very practical aspects of Sabbath activities and preparations.
Unfortunately, I could not find a reading that addresses the question of how it is actually possible to practice Sabbath during demanding times like graduate school. But I’ll still plan for that as a topic of discussion, since it seemed to be the most relevant issue.
We will be meeting at 8:00 at Jingjing’s house this week.
