It seems like there’s a church on every block in West Lafayette. Here’s a quick look at some congregations that Purdue graduate students are involved in, as well as some of their reasons for going:

  • Intellectually well-grounded
  • Warm, welcoming worship

Arin and Brianna: Kossuth Street Baptist Church, Lafayette

  • Solid teaching
  • Vibrant, close-knit community
  • Leadership cares about congregation

John: Lafayette First Church of the Nazarene, Lafayette

  • Good young adult group


Dan and Kurt: Maple Ridge Community Church, West Lafayette

  • Genuine, sincere people
  • Good worship service
  • Good mix of age groups

Andy, Margaret, Dave, Emily, and Amanda: Riverside Covenant Church, West Lafayette

  • Very methodical style of teaching and preaching
  • Size – not too large or small
  • “the pastor looks like the guy on Psyche
  • “they have windows”
  • “we can wear jeans and they didn’t look strangely at our kids”

  • Small and welcoming
  • Monthly potlucks
  • “they have good gospel and they give me food”
