News ---Activation (Jan 12, 2008) Having completed their intense candidate program, the Spartans finally recieved their Arnold Air Socitety cords and pins. The event included a three course dinner, an awards ceremony, and the play "The Wizard of Arnold Air", written and performed by the Spartan class inself.
---Boilerman Triathlon (Sept 22, 2007) On Saturday September 22 Purdue held its annual Boilerman Triathlon. The race consisted of a 1 mile swim, 24 mile bike ride and 6 mile run. There were over 100 participants and over 30 volunteers awake by 8 am Saturday to help out or run the race. Four members of the Iven C. Kincheloe Squadron were participants in the race, along with one of Det 220’s finest, Captain Westfield. 10 other members of the Squadron came out to help with the event as well as cheer on the team.

---POW/MIA (Sept 20-21, 2007) Thursday, September 20, at 7:30 in the morning, Arnold Air Society, along with the entire Det 220 wing held the opening ceremonies for the annual POW/MIA vigil. The 24 hour vigil consists of one guard watching a prisoner locked in a small cage in Memorial Mall. Cadets from Detachment 220 signed up in one hour time shifts in order to keep the positions occupied for 24 consecutive hours. At 8pm Thursday evening a candlelight vigil was held in honor of all those lost in action or taken prisoner. The vigil was led by Cadet 1st Lieutenant Andrew Metzger. Cadet Metzger spoke and then asked Cadets Caitlin McKay, Kandis Lutz and Susan Carlson to read a passage from an actual POW, a prayer, and Red Skelton’s Pledge of Allegiance. The vigil continued through the night and was concluded with a ceremony releasing both the prisoner and the guard Friday morning at 7:30.
---Hunger Hike (Sept 16, 2007) Sunday, September 16th 8 members of the Iven C. Kincheloe Arnold Air Society Squadron participated in Lafayette’s annual Hunger Hike. The two mile walk or 4 mile jog was to raise money for non-profit organizations helping feed the homeless and needy.
