Final Portfolio Guidelines

The final portfolio consists of the three projects you have completed for class, all significantly revised from peer comments and my written responses. To revise a document means to rethink, reconsider, rework, and rewrite the text to the best of your ability. It also means that you have considered the rhetorical purpose for the document and determined the best way to present that document according to its purpose. Revision does include editing, but it does not equal editing.

For the last two weeks of the semester, you will engage in revising your three documents so that they will serve as representations of your best work for the class. You may ask questions, ask for feedback from me and from your peers, as well as spend time in class working on your assignments.

Your portfolio is due on Saturday, December 14th at 5pm, the time and date determined from class consensus. Your portfolio will be submitted via the web.

Project #2 will serve as the weblink for the other two projects in your portfolio. This means that on your revised individual website (Project #2), you should provide links to Project #1 and Project #3.

Project #1 will be a link to your revised analytical essay is html, ms word, or pdf format.

Project #3 should link to your group's revised contribution to the collaborative website. The following are the links to the specific segments of each site:

Main page: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~jbay/306/project3/

Rhetoric: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~jbay/306/project3/rhetoric/

Writing: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~jbay/306/project3/writing/

Technology: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~jbay/306/project3/technology/

Information Theory: http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~jbay/306/project3/information/

By the portfolio due date, you should email me with your website address (project #2 address). Please include any important information or comments on your portfolio that you might want to offer in that email.

You also need to e-mail your information for project #3 to the web team well before the portfolio due date. Email cloudj@purdue.edu with your attached files.

Finally, don't forget to complete and submit the Collaborative Project Evaluation Form for project #3.
