Project #3--Professional Writing Website

For your last project for the course, you will construct a web site that covers the basic concepts and ideas covered in English 306. This web site is intended to be a primer, of sorts, for next semester's English 306 class, and eventually, the site could become an expanded resource for all Professional Writing students.

This project will be collaborative, meaning you will be working in teams with other students. The teams will be organized according to interests, and the work for the project will be divided accordingly among the teams.

I envision there to be approximately 5-6 teams, each with about 3 students. One team will be devoted to the design of the website, meaning that this team will design the site, the pages for the site, and set these pages up in preparation for content. The other groups will be responsible for developing the content for these pages. These groups will develop and collect information about different ideas in the class that will be useful for future Professional Writing students. This information should come from the texts of the class, as well as outside web sources and other classes in the Professional Writing program.

We will develop the topics for these teams in class, but here are some preliminary suggestions:

        • Rhetorical Theory
        • Writing Skills
        • Information Theory
        • Web Design
        • Computer Technologies

Because this is a collaborative class project, teams will require feedback from the entire class.

When you turn in this assignment at the end of the term, I ask that each of you also complete the collaborative project evaluation form and email it to me.
