Progression Continues for Engine 16 Inc.
March 21, 2008 – West Lafayette, Indiana – Another week has ended and we continue to progress in
our project. Our IRB Application was submitted to the Institutional Review Board at Hovde Hall
at the beginning of the week and now we are just waiting for their response. We hope to hear back
from the IRB at the beginning of next week so we can begin our testing with Purdue University's
firefigthers at Purdue Village Apartments in the second half of the week. We also had our first
meeting with a consultant from the Statistics department to help get ideas flowing about our data
analysis for when our experimenting is completed.
The documentation for our experiments is finished, which includes the agreements that the firefighters
will sign, the questionnaire's they will out, and the data sheets that will be used to collect data.
Our product is also essentially finished with a few minor changes that need to be made. At the earliest,
we will begin our testing on Wednesday the 26th with a worst case scenario of Wednesday, April 2nd.
