The 2008 meeting of the Midwest Study Group of the North American Kant Society will be held at Purdue University on October 18-19, 2008.

Prof. Allen W. Wood

the Ward W. and Priscilla B. Woods Professor, Stanford University and Professor of Philosophy, Indiana University, will be our keynote speaker.

There will also be six refereed papers and plenty of time for discussion and interaction.

Meetings are free and open to all. There is no formal registration, but if you plan to attend, you may contact Patrick Kain, so we might know roughly how many people to expect.  If you would like to attend Saturday's group dinner, please let us know as well.

2008 Organizer: Patrick Kain (Purdue)

2008 Program Committee: Patrick Kain (Purdue), Rachel Zuckert (Northwestern), Daniel Sutherland (Illinois-Chicago)

The Midwest Study Group of the North American Kant Society was founded in 1995 by Manfred Kuehn, then at Purdue University, in order to advance the discussion of the work of Immanuel Kant and to promote interaction among Kant scholars.  The MSG receives financial support from the North American Kant Society and from host universities.

Papers submitted for the meetings may discuss any topic in Kantian Studies. The term "Kantian Studies" is broadly conceived to include not only contemporary "Kantian" approaches to philosophical problems but also the discussion of Kant's immediate predecessors, contemporaries, and successors such as the German Idealists. (Here is a listing of past meeting programs.)
