- 1549 – Francesco Cenci, son of Cristoforo Cenci and Beatrice Arias born illegitimately
- 24 February 1536 to 3 March 1605 Pontificate of Clement VIII
- 6 February 1577 – Beatrice Cenci Born
- 8 September 1598 – Francesco Cenci Murdered by Olimpio Calvetti and Marzio Catalano
- November 1598 to August 1599 – The trail of the Cenci family is ongoing
- 27 August 1599 – Beatrice's will notarized; 20,000 scudi left to various charities.
- 7 September 1599 - Adendum to this will specifies a large additional sum of 1000 scudi to be bequeathed to Madonna Catarina who would then pass it on to an unnamed poor boy. Most historians now suspect this boy to be Beatrice's illegitimate son (Shelley would not have had access to this knowledge)
- 11 September 1599 – The Cenci family is executed on Ponte Sant' Angelo after the procession to the scaffold.
