CLCS 335: Introduction to Classical Mythology

A survey of the myths of Western antiquity. At the same time as we will learn specific mythic narratives and examine their place in ancient society, we will also be concerned with how deeply our own modern habits of thinking—about such things as nature, self, society, power, sexuality, gender, work, death—are influenced by Greek and Roman myths.
