My research interests are centered in the pre-Columbian Chachapoyas region of northern Peru, more specifically highland/lowland interaction as well as regional survey. Inka subjugation is also an interesting topic concerning the region but has not been dealt with to a degree. Other research interests stem from my time in Turkey such as archaeometallurgy and the PPN.
For my undergraduate work I attended Purdue University, West Lafayette Indiana where I received my undergraduate degree in Anthropology. My thesis examined the production and distribution of Nasca utilitarian ceramics using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). Currently I am conducting a provenance analysis of Nasca clays.
In 2007 I participated in two field projects in Peru; excavation in Chao valley located on the Peruvian north coast, looking at an ephemeral Moche-Chimu site as part of the field school organized by Dr. John Kent at Santa Rita B. I also had the luck to briefly participate in the Proyecto Nasca Temprano directed by Kevin Vaughn.
