Above: Picture taken in the early 1900s (1908?). I believe my grandmother is the one on the far left in the goofy white hat. Uncle Roy is the really tall guy.
Right: Picture taken at the Indianapolis State Fair, date unknown. That's Uncle Roy on the left again. My grandmother told me that the two women are cousins.
A few of my favorite family and ancestor photos.

Here's Great-great Uncle Joe enjoying a delicious adult beverage. I'm fairly sure this picture was taken during Prohibition, so there's no doubt in my mind that Joe's drinking, uh, root beer, and he's not smashed out of his gourd on homemade hooch. |
Great Uncle Roy and his wife Indie, playing a cut-throat game of lawn golf. This was their home, somewhere near Clarks Hill, IN. I don't know if this house is still standing or not. Roy was a Quaker, and I still have his pacifist papers from World War I. Indie died sometime in the 1930s or 40s, and Roy remarried a "horrid woman" according to family folklore. |

This looks like a turn-of-the-century photo (from the dresses). The one in the middle is my great-aunt Alta, and I think one of the others might be her sister, Chloe. Chloe died sometime in 1916-1918. Aunt Alta said she died of consumption, but I'm wondering if it were not from the great flu epidemic of that time. |
