At issue, it seems, is the country's lax prostitution laws. The exploitation of women is banned but prostitution itself is not, (notice that she doesn't judging or analyzing here: doesn't this beg the question for definition? who wrote the law?) making Spain an ideal choice for gangs looking to profit from pimping out illegal immigrants.
In recent days, government officials have been scrambling to restore order, with Barcelona Mayor Jordi Hereu calling for a ban on prostitution in the city centre. But others say the proposal is ill-advised. They argue that legalization -- not repression -- is what's needed to keep lewd scenes off the street.

We would expect her,as a female author, to show bias against prostitution, BUT is there a way in which prostitution can also be seen as female empowerment? So.... is Macleans the mitigating factor?

The pathetic prince of pimps, prostitutes and perverts

Opinion
The self-anointed prince of a perverted plan to sell underage girls to elderly pedophiles was dethroned by Jersey City police officials on August 7. Perhaps in another life, Allen Brown, a self-deluded heir of royalty, could have been an effective community organizer. But instead, Mr. Brown, 47, chose to utilize his God-given talents by doing the work of the Devil. - Is this a religious matter? What are the religious implications of this issue? if this publication is tied to a preaching tradition in Southern Baptism, how does that influence our reading of it?
By manipulating the minds of minors, sabotaging the self-esteem of women, and devaluing and defiling the bodies of mothers, daughters and sisters, Brown was able to provide lavish lifestyles for himself and his royal family, which included his mother, several siblings and other closely related cretins. - so is this not a prostitution issue, but a slavery issue? why use alliteration?
Perhaps someone should have informed Mr. Brown that in Black America, you are guilty until proven innocent. (Is prostitution or justice an issue of race?) I don't know of any jurors, Black or white, male or female, who are sympathetic to or impartial about the degradation and debasing of females. But I do know that off-times, karma calls for the hustler to be hustled and the pimp to be pimped. As for now, and possibly forever, this parasite will be the inmate formerly known as… prince.

MOST PROSTITUTES do not make a conscious choice to go into that way of life. -doesn't this suggest forgiveness? Many are led into it by a childhood experience of sexual abuse. Others turn to it as the only way to earn a living. Especially in the developing world, prostitution is often a means of survival. "I would rather die of HIV/AIDS" than starve, a 17-year-old girl in Uganda said. "Through sex I can at least buy basic commodities like salt, soap and sanitary pads."
Research has shown that investing in the education and financial power of girls and women generates multiple social benefits. Better educated women have higher incomes and raise healthier children. They are more likely to be able to plan the size of their families, and they choose to have fewer children. Women are more likely than men are to use their earnings to support the health and education of their children. One study showed that women invest 90 percent of their income in their families, whereas men invest only 30 to 40 percent.
Investing in young women is the key not only to ending sex trafficking, it's the key to changing the world.

is prostitution an educational and financial issue for... who? african poor... basic educational skills, health... and...religion?

is religious ministering, education? how do they blend? Why is a religious institution concerned with the economics of prostitution? where is the moral judgment? is this a good, unbiased argument?
