Mark Levinthal-My Home Page

This page is a gateway to my public life and my intellectual passions. I work in the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University. I teach a course in Genetic Biology (Biol541) and share a course in Evolution (Biol580). My teaching objective is to prepare students for a career in biotechnology. My research interest is the molecular evolution of microorganisms. In the Biology department, I counsel students interested in studying abroad. I am particularly interested in placing students in France because I collaborate professionally with scientists at the Institute Pasteur/Paris. I coordinate our computer resources in order to help colleagues develop multimedia instructional strategies. I help Sarah Kelly, the Life Science Librarian, meet the needs of my colleagues. I am interested in baseball, cycling, gourmet cooking and good wines. I am devoted to my family who sustain me  in bad times and share my deepest joys.
