Rebecca DeSouza is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She teaches and conducts research within the fields of health communication and mass media. Originally from India, Rebecca completed an M.A. in Media, Technology, and Society and a PhD program in health communication at Purdue University (2007) focusing on the intersections among health, culture, and structural marginalization.

Ambar Basu is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida. His research focuses on marginalization, Subaltern Studies, culture and health communication. His recent projects look at HIV/AIDS communication practices in sex worker communities.

Mahuya Pal is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Communication at the University of South Florida. Mahuya received her Ph.D from Purdue University in 2008. Mahuya explored culture-centered communicative processes of a local activist movement in eastern India in the context of global politics. Her areas of interest are organizational communication, politics of resistance, globalization, and subaltern studies.

Raihan Jamil
Raihan did both his Bachelor's and Master's from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, in Edinboro, PA, USA. His Bachelor's was in Economics with a minor in Mathematics and Computer Science. Raihan then did his Master's in Information Technology and International and Intercultural Communication. During his MA thesis, he got interested in Health Communication and is now pursuing that at Purdue University. His interests are in marginalized population issues, power and violence, and non-verbal communication. Raihan is from Bangladesh. Raihan is currently pursuing his Ph.D.
