Thank you for visiting my home page within the Department of Forestry & Natural Resources at Purdue University.
I am an extension specialist for Purdue University Forestry and Natural Resources Extension. I work within Extension and Research at Purdue University conducting applied science of natural resources as it relates to private, state, and federal land management interests in the region.
I strive to combine research and extension activities with stakeholders needs in the natural resource community and vegetation management industry which include (but not limited to!): native grassland dynamics, invasive vegetation management, forest management, and proper product use and handling.
An increasing amount of natural resource management is focused on invasive plant control and restoration as part of the development of sustainable ecosystems management. Through my experiences, most recommendations for vegetation management and native grass restoration lack scientific and/or industry support creating a gap between feasibility and ecological responsibility. Furthermore, the involvement of industry in supporting and facilitating natural resource management typically is done after the fact. It is my belief that by incorporating stakeholders into the developmental stages of management practices ensures that recommendations can be made using sound science which is both ecologically responsible and representative of leading technology.
Our lab strives to provide research and extension activities which address the needs of natural resource professionals from federal, state, and private interests.
