SLS (service, leadership, and scholarship), a new honor society for recognizing senior women, was formed with 7 women as members. |

- SLS was formally as the 36th chapter of Mortar Board
- Purdue University enrollment was less than 4000 students with approximately 700 women
- The School of Home Economics was formed

Purdue Mortar Board organized a junior and senior women's athletic booster club (a female counterpart to Gimlet) called the Gold Peppers. The Gold Peppers served the campus until 1974. |

During WWII, all the Mortar Board members wore identical beige suits with the MB emblem. Suits cost 12.95 and were purchased in Fort Wayne . |
| 1945 |
First scholarship. Mortar Board allocated $10.00 to be used with funds from Panhellenic Association and the Golden Peppers. |

The Reminder Calendar was created. Each members was given a number to sell. BOSO is still looking for the lost inventory of calendars. The printing bill was $292.50. |
| 1958 |
Mortar Board with the assistance of Dean Stone convinced the local bookstores to sell the calendars. Dean Schleman consulted with Mortar Board on some new type of counseling for freshman women. |
| 1961 |
Mortar Board began assisting the Dean with freshman counseling for 10 years, which is an early form of orientation. |
| 1962 |
PMU agreed to serve Sunday Breakfast to Mortar Board at initiation and Homecoming - a privilege reserved previously only for Iron Key. |
| 1971 |
Purdue chapter received the first ever National Citation for its record of service on this campus. |
| 1976 |
- Decision to include men, nationally
- Calendar printing bill was $12,000. And the total sold was 19,000 at $1.50 each. Scholarship and fellowship money totaled $13,500
- 50th class of the Barbara Cook Chapter

First class with 5 men out of 30 total and the 50th anniversary of the chapter. |

The chapter was named for Dean Barbara Cook, the beloved advisor and benefactor for 30 years. A university marker was erected by Mackey in her honor. |

The leadership conference was established. |

Purdue Mortar Board Premier Volleyball Invitational Tournament was founded. Purdue Boilermakers won every game taking first place against Southwestern Missouri, Eastern Kentucky, and Cal Poly. |
| 1996 |
The Mortar Board awards dessert was started. |
| 2000 |
Mortar Board assisted in establishing a local alumni club. |
| 2001 |
Mortar Board established the Horizons Scholarship Dessert |
| 2002 |
Celebrated 75th anniversary with a Homecoming dinner at the University Inn. Raised over $6000 for endowment.
Assisted in the Purdue Relief Effort which raised over 15,000 for the Red Cross Liberty fund. Hung yellow ribbons around campus and buried a time capsule to remember the reaction and events of the campus during the week of September 11th . |
