About the Freshman Scholar-Athlete Dessert
This annual event started in February of 1998. Prior to 1998, Mortar Board sponsored a dinner for all senior woman athletes at Purdue in the spring; but in evolving with the ideals of Mortar Board, the event was expanded to honor male as well as female athletes for their academic and athletic achievements. The Freshman Scholar-Athlete Recognition involves a recognition dessert for all Purdue freshman athletes who have achieved a 3.0 in their first semester.
