YWCA Thanksgiving Dinner & Fall Harvest Food Drive
Wednesday, November 17th, 2010
To celebrate Thanksgiving, the Barbara Cook Chapter hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner for the Women's Shelter at the YWCA. Mortar Boarders became chefs for the evening and prepared spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, homemade garlic bread, corn, green beans, brownies, cookies, and hot apple cider. We had a great time cooking, preparing, eating, and getting to know the women and children who joined us for the dinner.
After dinner we split up into groups to help with the special programming offered by the YWCA. The women helped with the self-esteem class by painting nails, styling hair, and doing make-up. The menís group helped entertain their children by playing games and doing crafts. It was a great philanthropy event that everyone was able to participate in and we look forward to the next one.
