The 12th annual Horizons Desert Reception will be held 4:00p - 6:00p in Hillenbrand Atrium, to celebrating the academic achievements of outstanding sophomores in the Horizons program. The Horizons Program encourages low-income, disabled, or first generation college students towards academic excellence and the reception honored the students who earned at least a 3.0 GPA during their freshman year at Purdue. The Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board prides itself in promoting one of its core values of scholarship through this program. The chapter challenges these students to continue to strive not only for academic excellence, but to also strive for the learning and growth possibilities present in leadership and service.
