Neal Houze - Faculty Campus Advisor
Neal Houze, Professor of Chemical Engineering, has a B.S. from Georgia Tech and a PhD from the University of Houston. Prior to joining Purdue in 1969, Neal studied in The Netherlands on a post-doctoral fellowship from the National Science Foundation. He worked for the predecessor of ExxonMobil for three years prior to completing his doctorate. Neal currently teaches junior and senior courses in chemical engineering and is the Faculty Coordinator for the Chemical Engineering Co-Op Program. He was director of the university Co-Op program for twenty years before returning full-time to chemical engineering in 2001. Neal has received the Charles B. Murphy Award, the A.A. Potter Award, and the Shreve Award for undergraduate teaching, is a member of Purdue's Teaching Academy, and is listed in the Purdue Book of Great Teachers. Neal enjoys woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren
