Welcome to my website
I am a graduate student at Purdue University in the school of Electrical & Computer Engineering. I work in the research group of Prof. Vladimir Shalaev and Prof. Alexandra Boltasseva. My research interests are in the field of Nanophotonics, a border where Nanotechnolgy meets Optics to deliver optical devices with "mystic" properties.

Mikhail Y. Shalaginov received his bachelorís degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the Department of General and Applied Physics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia in 2010. He is currently a Ph. D. student in the group of Prof. Vladimir Shalaev, School of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.
Mikhailís research interests include quantum photonics, metamaterials, and plasmonics. Mikhail Shalaginov is a member of SPIE, OSA, MRS, IEEE, APS and currently serves as a Graduate Ambassador of Discovery Park at Purdue University. Mikhail was a founder of SPIE Purdue Student Chapter and co-founder of OSA Purdue Student Chapter, served as a president of Purdue student organizations, such as ECE Graduate Student Association, OSA/SPIE Purdue Student Chapter, and Nanotechnology Student Advisory Council. His conference paper titled "Broadband enhancement of spontaneous emission from nitrogen-vacancy centers in nanodiamonds by hyperbolic metamaterials" was named as the highest scoring student paper in the category Metamaterials and Complex Media, CLEO 2013 (OSA Foundationís Maiman Outstanding Student Paper).
