About Mike Vuolo

Mike Vuolo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Purdue University, where he is also Associate Director of the Center for Research on Young People's Health. In summer 2015, I will transition to Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at The Ohio State University. I hold the following degrees from the University of Minnesota: a PhD in sociology (2009), an MS in statistics (2007), and an MS in Mathematics (2011). My research and teaching interests include crime, law, and deviance; health; sociology of work and education; substance use; the life course; and statistics and methodology. In 2013, I received the Junior Scholar Award from the American Sociological Association Section on Alcohol, Drugs, and Tobacco. Examples of my work can be found in journals such as Social Forces, Criminology, Sociological Methods & Research, Demography, Law & Society Review, and Pediatrics.
