Semana 1

This was the first day we had the internet working on our laptops. I was amazed that it was so nice out that we could work outside!

Here I am with my host Mom, Nancy. She is a great cook!

This is my roommate Jenifa. At some point this semester she's going to teach me Mandarin!

Here's a picture of me on campus. The vegetation around here is pretty cool looking!

This is the park that is close to our house. Colonia loosely translates to "neighborhood."

Later on I found a new good friend.

This was at this evening's cocktail party. The dancing was awesome. I really wanted to join in, but being two ankles down, I wasn't about to try anything.

I took this picture while I was trying to calm myself down after a very trying morning. It was quite nice to just sit and do nothing. The two below this are in the same area.

Over the last few days we've spent a lot of time in the main auditorium.

Orange Trees! I've never seen orange trees before! They grow everywhere here!

More Orange Trees

This was one of our duck friends taking a drink from a hole in the sidewalk.

The Monterrey Rams I guess is what we are... I need to find the word in Spanish again.

The Monterrey clock tower.

Hey, that could be Dad's new truck!

Janet, Jenifa and other girl, who's name I can't remember.

The peacock is a permanent resident of the Tec de Monterrey

There are a lot of ducks just wandering campus. They sleep where ever they feel like it. That includes in the middle of the sidewalk if they feel so inclined.

This was the first image that really struck me as we were flying into Mexico. At first there were no mountains... then they just appeared out of nowhere!
