Resources for Writing a Formal Paper
The Writing Lab at Purdue—Literature courses emphasize strong writing and analytical skills. To receive individualized attention for your writing as you work on the papers for this course, you may want to visit the Writing Lab to set up one or two appointments with a tutor. The Writing Lab is located in Heavilon 226, and the phone number is 494-3723. More information about hours and availability can be found on the WL homepage.
OWL (the Online Writing Lab) is also an excellent resource and is available 24/7. The OWL site includes excellent information about writing thesis-driven and grammatically correct papers:
We use MLA style for quotations and documenting sources in the formal papers for this class. OWL also has good reference pages on using MLA documentation style.
