Nuclear Pharmacy is a patient-oriented practice that encompasses the scientific and professional knowledge required to improve and foster health throught the safe and effective use of radioactive pharmaceuticals for diagnosis and therapy. Radioactive pharmaceuticals are the ones that contain minute amounts of unstable, or radioactive, elements. With proper handling, these radioactive elements are very safe and contribute a great deal to diagnostic imaging and therapeutic treatment of certain diseases. |
