Baer Field Speedway 2006 Pre-Race
Opportunity Motorsports and Circle Bound Racing are proud to announce that the College of Engineering at Purdue University will join ARC Racing Engines and ARP Bodies as a sponsor of the number 14 CBR Late Model at this weekend’s CRA Super Sunday at the Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne, IN. Driver Zach Taylor will look to build on the successful fourth place effort at the Winchester Speedway last month with another successful showing Sunday.
Opportunity Motorsports is a student organization from Purdue University that allows students the opportunity to be highly involved in the maintenance of a semi-professional race team, and has teamed with veteran racer Chet Blanton to field the CBR number 14 car. The College of Engineering will be using Sunday’s event to promote its involvement in the auto racing arena and with Opportunity Motorsports.
Aside from supporting Opportunity Motorsports’ efforts, the College of Engineering will be holding a hospitality event in the fan concourse at the speedway, providing information on the degree programs at the University to visitors and potential students, allowing them to meet and greet with members of Opportunity Motorsports and the College of Engineering. Also, the College will be holding a pit-stop competition for autographed Purdue sports memorabilia, open to all visitors.
The events get underway at Baer Field Speedway at 12:00pm with qualifying and a 2:00pm race time on Sunday May 21, and anyone presenting a Purdue or high school student ID will receive a $2 discount on admission.
