Busy Off-season Continues for Opportunity Motorsports Crew

While the race tracks sit blanketed by snow, the Opportunity Motorsports and Circle Bound Racing crews have been busily preparing for the 2007 CRA Super Series season.  Both Port City cars have been completely torn down to the frame and each have had a beautiful fresh black powdercoat applied to them.  Each will have completely rebuilt rear ends, fuel cells, engines, transmissions, as well as brand new interiors, bodies, wiring, many new suspension components.  The only thing remaining from the 2006 season will be Chet Blanton’s trademark number 14 on the door.  The team has been very busily working on the team’s primary car, and it sits completed, awaiting a body and its engine and transmission, while the team’s backup machine’s components are ready to install upon its return from the paint booth.

This very extensive overhaul of the CBR operation has kept the OM crew very busy during an already taxing school year, and has the crew eagerly anticipating the season opening All-American 150 in Nashville, TN on April 1st.

The one missing component of the CBR machines is a driver’s seat, as negotiations are ongoing with several drivers and an announcement will be made in the coming weeks, stay tuned to www.purdue.edu/opportunity for updates.
