Spring Break Possibilities

Postby madmantheo » Sat Mar 10, 2012 9:11 pm

Seeing as how a number of us are destined to be in the Lafayette area for Spring Break, I figured I'd see about possibly arranging some things for us to do while class is out.

1. Anime Marathon- This would likely be in the style of our PAC Classic marathons: held offcampus at a private residence and with a series selected at the beginning by those in attendance. I'm personally open for any day this week, have an apartment that's fairly large, and a large collection of anime titles at my disposal. If people are interested, post in this thread what if any days work best for you. The earlier we start in a given day, the longer a series we can potentially marathon. If you wish to offer up your residence for the marathon, feel free to, and if there are any anime you have that you think would make a good watch, either suggest it on here or bring it with to the marathon.

2. Anime Karaoke Night- We could arrange another meetup over at Echo Karaoke (down at the Wabash Landing) sometime during the week as well. They will be open everyday except for Monday, starting at 8pm on the weekdays, 5pm on the weekend. Cost would be $6/person on Friday and Saturday, $4/person any other day. I'll likely bring my laptop and an HDMI cable so we can arrange a wider variety of anime titles for singing. If you're interested, please post in this thread as to which days would be best. To maximize time, we'd likely arrange to meet up there around 8-9pm.

Any questions, feel free to post and I can do my best to answer them.

Well, I will probably stay on campus during this break. So any day will be okay for me to marathon, but I would better to attend it after next Wednesday which is 14th. Also, I would like to suggest Baccano! as a candidate to watch.

I am always up for a great round of karaoke or anime watching. My one night off this week is Wednesday so my votes go there.

@digispirit We can always marathon a longer series during the break on our own. I'm fairly sure most people wouldn't want to commit to multiple days of anime... unless I'm wrong about that entirely.

Here's a proposed idea: Wednesday afternoon, we meet somewhere (probably my place unless someone else wants to volunteer) in the afternoon and marathon a 13-episode series, and then after we finish, we can get dinner and head over to Echo Karaoke.

Suggesting this since I've seen Wednesday mentioned twice and another mention the earlier in the week the better.

Also, I do own Baccano on BluRay, so it can certainly be amongst those to be chosen from.

Since I haven't heard any complaints, it looks like we'll be doing things Wednesday. Likely start time is probably 1pm, and the location looks to be my place. We can either order in food during the marathon or go somewhere once we've finished, depends on people's preferences. Afterwards we can sally forth to Echo Karaoke, likely around 8-9pm and belt out Japanese songs.

There is a chance that plans might change soonish (I might end up travelling to St. Louis.. random, yeah), so I won't make this 100% official just yet. I should know by tomorrow evening whether or not we're set, and I'll fire off an email and list some final instructions.

Alright. So here's the plan for things. Depending on whether we hold this Wednesday or Thursday (yes, that's still up in the air because of my availability), things will go down at my place starting at 1pm. My address is 2501 Soldiers Home Rd, Apartment #49, the apartment complex being Parkway Apartments. If you need directions, follow this link http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=202125781869900971009.0004aeb2f9ceae6f1d2b3&msa=0 for Google Maps.

If you're in need of a ride to my place, post your intentions on here so I can arrange pickups. Meeting place for that would likely be the Union.

If you're only interested in karaoke, we'll be meeting up at Echo Karaoke at 8-9pm (depending on when things finish with the marathon). If you're only planning on attending karaoke, let me know so I can reserve an appropriate room.

If you have any last minute problems or questions, you can call/text me at 765-418-0641.

(And if fate conspires to shift things to Thursday, I'll fire off an email as early as possible)
