Spoiler: show
Our main character (dubbed Saki for convience) has art class, where he gets invited to join the art club. Eye-patch girl Mei isn't there. He later ditches a couple of new friends to talk to her at the library, where she is drawing an 'angel'. Chibiki, the creepy librarian, interupts them. At home, Saki talks about how he would like to study the fine art of carving and sculpture. Creepy elevator ride. He talks to his former nurse, wondering if a girl died while he was there (at the hospital). After school the next day, Saki is cornered and questioned again about where he lived by the Head of Countermeasures (he still hasn't been told what's going on). Saki follows Mei, but loses her and finds a super creepy doll shop. The nurse calls to tell him that a Junior High girl (maybe Misaki?) died. Inside the shop, he meets Mei and she shows him whats under the patch, but what is it? Find out next time.

Spoiler: show
What's under the mask? An artificial green eye! Can't stay in the basement or the dolls will try to swallow your soul. Creepy music. Kirika makes the dolls upstairs. 26 years ago, the girl everyone loved died (no one knows for sure how). Then someone said she wasn't dead and the whole school pretended. Then, she showed up in the graduation picture. Grandma calls and Sakaki has to return home (the shop lady doesn't see Mei). It's exam time! Followed by career counseling and high schools. Don't talk about Misaki!!!! Sakaki finds out that his mother was in class 3. Warnings to not mess with things that don't exist as the cell phone gives out. The girl who died at the hospital was Mei's cousin. But Mei DOESN'T EXIST! Or does she? Is Sakaki the only one who can see her? Then, the infamous umbrella scene (too graphic to put on a public site).

Another lunch with the nurse whose younger brother is in his class reveals that nobody really knows about eyepatch girl. Does she even exist?!?!?! Walking back, he meets up with a classmate and they almost get crushed/slashed by a falling pane of glass. The shop keeper is a broken record and Mei says she will skip school since he didn't follow the rules. At school, the head of countermeasures starts to explain when a phone call interupts. Spoiler: show
Finally, some explanations! Everyone is sad about the death of Takeru's older sister, but life continues. The Countermeasures girl interupts Sakakibara while he is looking at his mother's graduation pictures. She asks for forgiveness but gives no explanation. He is questioned about talking on the phone with her and returns to an empty classroom. The countermeasures girl is now class rep. Someone is finally going to explain everything on the way home, but oh no! He has a heart attack! In response, the class ignores Sakaki and we finally learn that Mei really does exist. She's only been ignored since May 1st. The story is that someone "extra" sometimes shows up (meaning they are short one desk). This extra person, who they don't realize is extra, is actually dead, a spirit come to act out a portion of its life. Who is dead and who isn't? For 25 years, one person has died a month in this class. Ten years ago, they found out that ignoring one person would stop the curse.

Episode Six

Postby KaliWalbring » Wed Oct 31, 2012 7:03 pm

Spoiler: show
The desk being crappy is apparently just part of the charm. Mei treats her mother as a stranger and the fact that Sakaki's mother died a long time ago finally comes out to his classmates. Mei thinks that this treatment is worth it because it is sad when someone dies. He thinks her fake eye is beautiful. Death is not kind, it is dark and black and you are always alone. The dad's conversations are getting stranger, asking how he feels to be back in the town, but he has never been here. Or has he? Mei and Sakaki are spending all their time together (and skipping class) and it turns out that the librarian was the homeroom teacher that first year of the curse. Misaki, the kid who did originally, was a guy (totally missed that before). After graduation, the dead person becomes revealed and is mysteriously removed from all documents and memories. This ignoring only works 50% of the time and OH Crap! The teacher is losing it!!!

Spoiler: show
Holy Crap! The teacher offs himself in front of the class. Having two "dead" folks didn't work. Turns out that the teacher had murdered his mother because of exhaustion over the curse. Everybody now exists, no more "dead" people. What happened that summer where the curse stopped midyear? They visited a shrine in the mountains, maybe... Who is dead? Is it me, or you? Is it my fault. There's a strange picture of his mother somewhere in the home, but where? Meet with class rep at the coffee shop. The guy who stopped the curse left "it" (a clue?) there. But where is there? Mei is going to the summer house for a week and she's taking a cell phone, even those she hates them. She's very sure that he's not the dead person in the class.
