All of the Hideauze in the area have been exterminated and Ledo has to deal with the knowledge that they were once human. Pinion is being a greedy jerk. The fleet is trying to deal with the news about the whale squid nest. Pinion plans to create his own invincible fleet. Chamber weighs in on the whole war, reiterating the need to continue since the Hideauze have chosen to reject society to become "perfect" beings. And... Colonel Kugel (sp?) reappears.

Kugel, from the army, has come to meet Ledo and Ledo rejoins him. They demand to see Pinion. Kugel plans on ruling the world with the Galactic Alliances version of "well-being". They are also trying to recruit Pinion. Pinion's fleet is being split apart and forced to surrender. Chamber supports this forceful leadership. Kugel wants to "convert" Gargantia.

Pinion gets to work repairing stuff, but the pirate lady is trying to sink the fleet. Ledo is still struggling with the Colonel's decisions. During a rain storm, the possessed fleet sends the old and the weak to drown to thank the "gods" . Ledo asks if Chamber can fight Striker. Ledo makes his decision fight for Gargantia and against the Colonel. Everyone has to decide whether or not to fight or flee. The battle begins. Pinion, the Lobster pirate, and civilians all work together to assist Ledo. Striker has been fighting with the Colonel dead inside her!!

Striker's pilot, Kugel, died a long time ago and has taken it upon herself to reorder Earth in order to better fight the war. By forcing people to worship her and follow her law, she becomes a God and brings "peace". Chamber and Ledo fight her, employing dangerous methods while the rest of the cast assists from the sidelines. Chamber finds Ledo incapable to complete his soldiering and releases him. Chamber then fights Striker alone and sacrifices himself so that everyone else can continue to live, including Ledo, in a world free of the intergalactic war.
