They are learning myths in class, but the unabridged versions. One of the girls in her group is really struggling. Stack cards. There are monsters that prowl the night and take children away.

Reiko (the girl who did poorly) disappeared. They have a contest withing the class with rolling a ball into a hole and one of the other kids is cheating. Afterwards, they are assigned to spend seven days in a tent as an exercise. Queerats exist! The main character uses her powers to save a Queerat from drowning and they have to go home when the song plays.

Ninja battle in the moonlight!! Spare everyone but the emperor of merciful light. You’re not rowing right!! Exploding eggs! Demon’s hand formations. Set up camp. Saw a blowdog on Mt. Tsukuba. They threaten the library again and it gives in. Fiends and demons definitely existed once, but where originally people with strange powers. The first fiend raped and murdered, starting with women and then everyone. PK were discriminated against and fought back, destroying the world.

The Blowdog explodes. Blowdogs are like mines, they even have shrapnel. The Molerats reappear and try to scare them away from their nest. A couple of children are captured and taken to the nest. They are at a period of extreme stress, which means they are biologically programmed to have sex. The Molerats are a major cockblock. They feed it an explosive egg from the haythatcher. They follow a stranger in the woods and he leads them to a queer rat nest. They’re going to meet the queen queerrat and she almost eats Squealer. Please kill the invading queerrats, but the children still have their Cantus’s sealed. They blow up several caves with gas. The roof is…alive?

Nope, the ceiling was just collapsing. She preforms a kind of exorcism on the boy and returns his mantra (which she had tricked him into telling her). Satoru is pretty vicious when provoked. The two kids and the allied queer rats all go to attack thee enemies main base. They are attacked, but the enemies change shapes. Satoru refuses to retreat. The queer rats are acting suspicious and Saroru is exhausted. They find a huge host of enemies.

There's a huge Mole rat army waiting for them. They are found out. Squealer is getting more and more suspicious. They meet the Giant Hornets' general. The colonies are meeting and splitting the spoils of war, when blow dogs appear again! They are in danger of being removed for knowing too much. They rely on Squealer once again. They are all reunited. The General catches up anyways, but he's here to help. They realize that remembering their mantras will return their powers. She restores Shun's Cantus. They are captured (maybe).

It's been two years since the incident. Shun and Satoru seem to be a couple or something and Saki is pretty sad about that. She kind of hooks up with the other girl. I think this is because of stress. Shun cuts Satoru off. That's okay, he's got a new boy toy. A super powerful Cantus user visits the class. Shun does something very strange and offends the all powerful. There was something evil inside the egg Shun was trying to hatch... Shun is going for rehabilitation. They couldn't cover up the loss of their Cantus, but their punishment has been delayed. Until now.

They decide to look for Shun, but in smaller groups as to not draw lots of attention. Pinewind (the village) has been closed off and they can't find anyone from the town anymore. The town has been destroyed and they return home. Her parents come out with some of the truth, but they won't tell her everything, they don't want her to disappear. She finds out she had an older sibling who also disappeared. The other pair went into the Inner courtyard. The teachers can unleash the Cats and Shun may be becoming a Karma demon. Akane slips out to find Shun and save him. She meets a cat.
