Camping:

Beginning during the 2008-2009 season, camping was allowed for 4 games a season. During the first official campout, over 100 groups arrived to wait to see the Boilers take on the Duke Blue Devils.

Gene Pool:

First ever basketball student section at Purdue. Named after coach Gene Keady. Renamed "the Paint Crew" upon Keady's retirement.

General Admission:

The Paint Crew switched to General Admission for the 2007- 2008 basketball season. Championed by President Matt Lake, 1779 members of the Paint Crew were finally allowed to compete for the best seats.

Mike Klein List:

Official list that the general admission line is kept on. List was named after the first person to ever miss a role call, Mike Klein. The rules of the Paint Crew stated that one representative of a group needed to be present at all times, and during one of the first ever role calls, a group named "Mike Klein" did not have a member present. The absence was largely cheered by those in attendance. Beginning for the 2008/2009 basketball season, the list was officially renamed after the first ever "casulity." Mike Klein would later become an advisory board member, and eventually an officer in the Paint Crew.

Paint Crew:

Named after coach Matt Painter upon him officially taking over as the head coach of the Men's Basketball Team

Role Call:

Paint Crew officers will run through the list of names several times while waiting for seats. Those groups not in attendance are dropped from the list.

"The day the Paint Crew died:"

After the first ever unofficial campout in 2008, several groups of students arrived on a Wednesday night to camp out for a game the following Tuesday. By Friday, the campers were sent home due to a violation of university policy. A facebook group was created to remember the day:
Facebook Paint Crew Died

Tin Roof:

The tin roof at Mackey Arena provides the signature element that the Paint Crew brings to basketball games. When rocking, Mackey Arena is one of the loudest in the nation, this is thanks to the location of the Paint Crew, right on top of the opposing teams bench, and the tin roof that traps in the sound.

"Why Matt Lake, Why?"

Several students were disgruntled after the switch from reserved seating to general admission. Blaming the president of the administration that passed the general admission policies, a group named "Why Matt Lake, Why?" was created. The premis of the group was to show dissatisfaction with the new policy. The group still exists at
