I am not for sure what the head honchos are wanting to charge, but in my opinion, spectating is gonna be free.

The spectators will be free, but we will be taking donations at the door. It would be nice if people would pitch in a few bucks to help the club cover some of the cost.
Its 9 days away, is your car ready?????

What's the classification of "beater", could it be considered your only car? If that's the case, bring it on.

Its now 6 days away. (Not including the ~6 hours of daylight today) Everyone been wrenching????? I know moving in has put a kink in my plans, but i'll still be there, balls to the wall as usual.
We really need about 5 volunteers running things on Saturday. I myself would like to get many runs in, so we need to cooperate on this. If each person that plans on running will donate 30 minutes or so (think of it as cool down time for the car) that will be plenty of help. If everything goes well, we can set another one up next spring again.
Come on out, its bound to be a good time.

I plan on being there if nothing suprising pops up. Car was slow last time out to the track but I was hindered with a bad TPS sensor and an SES light the whole night so we'll see if I can raise the bar a little bit this time. Oh and Luke, I would be glad to donate some time while I am there to help out.

08-23-2004, 12:46 PM
Things like the gate, probably timeslips....someone in the lanes.
They'll have 3 people there. 1 in the tower, 1 EMT and 1 guy at the starting lines...i think.
Chappy
08-23-2004, 01:01 PM
In tha past track rentals I've been to up there, they have only provided 1 person. PAPA Norm is normally in the tower and that's it. If you pay the extra cash, you get the EMT. Normally they don't provide someone for the starting line unless extra money is paid.
So what's the count look like on this?
Cool Hand
08-23-2004, 01:12 PM
Maybe i missed out on something, but I'm confident she told me there'd be 3 people there.
So far i got
Matt
Jeremy
Chappy
Jeff
Luke
Adam
Jason
Scott
Tim
Matt
Alex (i think)
Aaron
Neil
Justins old man
Travis
Andy
And I'm sure theres others that i've forgetten, so im saying roughly 25. I think about 35-40 would be a good number.
Chime in if you've told me you'll be there and i've forgotten.

What sort of rules will we have to adhear to. Can i run with my t-tops off and windows down? Can we have passengers? I will be running with a helmet, but is it required? Etc.
DeadPedal
08-24-2004, 12:04 PM
someone else probably will know the answer better than me, but i know convertible tops have to be up, so i'd imagine T-tos need to be in. also, i'm pretty sure you have to run with the windows up.
passengers, maybe, we'll see wht they say when we get there. i think on days open to the public they don't allow it, but they might make an exception.
helmets, i doubt they'd give you any trouble unless you plan on runin 11's.

Chappy
08-25-2004, 06:58 AM
Luke, let me know what time you are planning on heading up there... we'll probably end up meeting you and heading up. I'd like to have plenty of time for cool down and changing tires and things before we start racing at 9.
RidiculousTalon
08-25-2004, 07:17 AM
i'll be there. you can count on it
Chappy,
If you would like to throw anything in the truck let me know, I won't be racing, just there to carry stuff, and possibly tow anyone home if something "unfortunant" happens...
I figure we'll probably meet at our standard Walmart parking lot around 7:15, leave around 7:30 so we'll be there around 8:30-8:45 or so...
Luke, just one question, if we do get a party sub, how the hell are we gonna carry it? In the back of the truck!?!?!?

90% of Thunderstorms and Rain for Morocco on Saturday.
I guess it wouldn't be a planned trip to US41 unless we had this :(
I don't want that mess like last time where we all drove up only to find out it was rained out. If it's raining in the morning...Luke or somebody should call or drive up and verify what the track status is before we waste gas.
Mr. 327
08-27-2004, 09:59 AM
I'll second that emotion, I wasted about 25 bucks worth of race gas and my car is just now dry from that Foo-King Noah's Ark worth of rain from last time.

I guess since I'm the one that set it up, I'll be the one to drive all the way out there. Its showing 90% chance of rain for saturday on www.intellicast.com.
Should i just call them and see if i can get it rescheduled instead of wasting everyones time and effort???????

Good decision Luke...better to call it off early than hang on to a little 10% hope that it'll be a go. You saved a lot of people time and gas.
As for the 11th...since its the only day left this year, you need to decide if you want to schedule it in this short time frame, or shoot for something in early Spring (as far off as that sounds). It sucks, but that's what happends when both of the track days get rained out. I'm sure you get the pick of the litter for Spring though.

08-27-2004, 02:18 PM
screw early spring, I'm all for the 11th. I wanna get my car to that track. (I'm on a roll, 4 trips... everytime i turned around half way due to rain. This time I'm happy i didn't drive first)

The 11th will work for me, but I'll be pretty late if the time is the same. But that's fine with me though. There are a lot of people out there who can take greater advantage of the day than I ever could. Especially if I just run my truck down the strip once or twice.
I agree, good call to cancel now. I thought you all were crazy back in the spring. I got up, looked at the radar, and went back to bed :)
Mr. 327
