These are all activates that should be done at club meetings to make it more interesting

Computer lab type up what’s on their care
Broken parts day, plan several months in advance so people can break the parts
Club picture day, plan in advance so people can wash cars
Club video day
Have a project day go to peoples places.
Let members know they can do presentations on anything anytime.
Give members a meeting to talk about what ever they want to.
Have demo's on how to do car electrical soldering.
Bring soldering guns and what not.
Have Andy do one on how to re-lash an ECU
Have Andy do one on how to tune
Have a movie night!! Vote on a movie bring pop corn and watch it in the meating
Have people from car places come in and do prensations
Possibly from banes machine shop exe, how he gets extra power out of engines.
Make handouts that people fill out at the meetings, questions like.
What car awards have people received in the past...
What makes their car different than others…
What do they have done…
What they want to do in the club.
Make a member list with numbers / tools / if they have a garage / what their good at.
Fuck you could even do how to do your taxes day, I need to do that and it’s easy.
Have bobby talk about car stereo and what makes a good one.
Have consumer reports type of things where people do research on parts
Alarms
Radar detectors
Tires
CB radios J
HIDS
Making a FAQ for the board
Bobby talk about how to buff out scratches in a bumper
Andy and bobby said they watched that speed show together. Maybe more members?

I like the movie night idea, there are alot of good car movies out there, especially from the 70's. Like the cannon ball run and gumball rally movies with Burt Renolds, vanishing point, gone in 60 seconds, bullitt, and probably alot more. I think the meetings could have alot of potential, espically when it is warm out. Like last semester someone suggested having the mettings in the parking garage with all of our cars.

lets watch the original Gone In 60 Seconds. Most of the people on this site probably haven't seen it and it's much better than the one with Nicholas Cage.

Posiablly a HALO meating?

This is a car club, therefore I think we should keep meetings related to cars.

You guys can organize a halo tournament on your own time or something

i've made positive comments. you want feedback, correct? not everyone is into halo. if we were, this would be a halo club, not a car club.

03-02-2007, 01:41 AM
we could all bring some of our own footage... show and tell... only... hours and hours and hours of it...

Or... we could all invest in Zip Zaps... and have a zip zap autocross or demolition derby...

Its late and I need to go to sleep

I told Alec already that i have his RX-8 zip zap... mwahahah.

The footage might be better for a PAPA movie night, but I need to give a presentation as do others, so that would be a good chance to show off some footage

I agree, I dont even like Halo but would play and get owned just to be in a now pissed of enviroment. These boards are starting to piss me off.

Adam and I would be happy to do a presentation on tuning if you would like. You will need to give us some time to prepare it as right now we are busy with setting up a site and getting all the legal shit done to open up our tuning company. We could have some screen shots of tuning and then videos of doing it if you like.

As far as a Halo Tourney, since we are a car club, we can do the Forza or GT4 thing if you guys wanted to have a tourney one meeting. A bunch of good ideas in here Richey, thanks for stepping up!

SLOT CARS....

I have a shit ton of track, I know jared has a lot. I'm sure a lot of people have extra track... It'd be a hell of a lot of fun to break out some old slot cars and race with em. I remember those days.

i still think more people in the club would rather play halo
well have a vote if we would like to do something like that

hell yes to slot cars! or a forza/gt4 showdown! how many xboxs can be linked together at one time?

jolly_green_giant
03-02-2007, 09:34 AM
Would there be any interest in "other" forms of racing that most of the club is probably unfamiliar with? I think it would be a good idea to maybe have presentations on different types of automotive performance, since no one person is involved with all types of racing. For instance, I could give a presentation on truck pulls if there would be any interest.

albluecar
03-02-2007, 10:06 AM
I gots a 360.

Jeopardy eh? I like it- we could use some useless car trivia and then do that top gear what car? game, like they have on the site.

some good ideas there....we have been asking at almost every meeting if someone wants to do a presentation or something and noone steps up....

hmmm i wonder if i still have my slot car form a long as time ago?? im gonna have to look for it when i go home next lol

im gonna move this to meeting minutes and discussions...since it fits there better.

WTF is going on? Richie's post was pretty constructive and non-offensive! Forza show down sounds like fun, wish I was down there.

im a bit sick of all the shit going on, ive tried several things to get it to stop they did not work. Figured this would make people come to the meatings and maybe get along. Since i have not learned any thing useful at one or had fun going to them. SO things are going to change!!!!!!!!

Richey 4 PAPA president Spring 08!!!!!!!

RoyMan
03-02-2007, 06:07 PM
I dont belive that is directly the presidents fault....there has been a large lack of effort coming from the members this semester also. it makes it very hard to do good things when noone wants to make a presentation or anything.

Thanks to those of you who haven't lost faith in me. I am still working on getting many different projects done at once- just give it time and we'll have a whole lot of things going on after Spring Break. I'm devoting the week more or less entirely to the club, so just sit tight kids.

I never lost faith at any point, you always have progress updates and seem to genuinely care about the club. I cant wait till I get my car down here for the Grand Prix Car show.
