This is a rumor that a group of uninvited "guests" are going to show up and school us at our track day. This will not happen, because if i dont have your name on a list, you wont be entering. End of story.

You have to cancel the event now, the god of all cars will not be attending. He won't be there to assist with drag racing techniques, how to set up cars for the strip (since he's build many 9 sec cars himself), now it is pointless to go as everyone that is going to be there is stupid and never been to a drag strip and driving a somewhat fast car down the strip (as nothing is faster then his high 14 sec lightning).

Is it yours? Sure, and I'll give you lets say a 3 sec head start...

You know I could give two shits if you know I guy on some message board that has a Lightning that is faster then my car. One thing you need to learn is that there will always be someone out there faster then you. I probably saw a Lighting this past weekend down here in Indy that would give your buddies Lightning a run for his money. Do I go around trying to set up races with a buddies car because mine is too slow to win the race, no... why, cus it's retarded.

They aren't.. They have nice little streetable cars..

Jeff's motor in a lightnig would be a nice little 12 second truck...Very ho hum when you consider theres BD-11 equipped trucks that have run 11.5's...

Hell Jeff can't keep his car together long enough to get to a track, much less make a run.. And you consider that a street car? It's *almost* as bad as Fourney's car...

My trucks my daily driver.. GO fast is nice and all, but it's number one job is start and run every morning, not blow out water pump gaskets, and if the need be drive to New York tommorow. Jeff, could your red car do that? There's alot of fast cars here that I'm sure could, but comparing a 12 second Camaro to a 12 second Lightning is crazy..

It's funny, out of the people that hang out over at Lukes, ask any of them who's car/truck is almost never being worked on...(Other than the TVR)...

I don't have the money for a second car right now.. I'm trying to save the money for this 557 buildup, as well as looking for a fox body..

Curt, you just don't get it do you... I'm not a god, nor is Jeff or Louis. I would hope that no one else thinks that either. More then anything we are respected because we do have a good knowledge about cars and have done a ton of work on them (I'll be the first to admit that I don't know shit compared to Louis!), and we don't brag about knowing everything and anything about cars, like you do. My car is nothing special... shit it's a HCI, blower car. Those are a dime a dozen in the mustang world. Honestly I give a shit ton of props to Luke on what he's doing to his car, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

We do have nice little streetable cars... Jeff's motor in a lightning would probably be a high 11 sec car, but you would be dumb to put it in one. What's your point here? We all know that a truck weighs more then a car, nothing new here. It's not our fault that you're wanting to start with something that weighs 1000-1500 lbs more then what we are. Just seems like a bad idea to start with when you look at it that way.

Last year Jeff's car was down quite a bit. This was due to a problem he was having with breaking oil pump driveshafts... basically we think the shaft length was a little long on things. Now the last shaft breaking was a fluke, it's not very often that a roller rocker comes apart and sends all the roller bearings into the motor. One got sucked up and locked up the pump... shit happens. He did drive the car daily for almost two weeks straight last year with no problems, so I'm sure that it could be driven that way if needed.

My car was a daily driver for 3 years without much problems. Hell for the two years that it was a HCI car I daily drove it for about a year and a half (read 30k miles). It never left me stranded anywhere, always started (ok one morning it didn't start because the battery took a shit on me, but that's just life, would have happened to any car). It was perfectly streetable, and very dependable. So don't give me any excuses about making power reliable... you can do it, and get good mileage too (I was getting 22 on the highway and turning 108 ish trap speeds at the track). Oh BTW, the car also saw close to 150 strip passes during that period as well.. hows that for reliable?

Jeff's car is getting closer to a track car by the day, but that's only because of a few parts, namely the proshifted trans, et drags, etc... but it is still a street car, because he doesn't take it to the track that much, I think he went 3 maybe 4 times last year to the strip.

Anthony's car is still a street car as well, granted it probably won't be by the time it gets back on the road, but right now it could be very easy (shit when he took it apart this past year it still had the a 10 bolt in it!)

Do you honestly think I'll get embarassed by your farm truck if you ever do anything to it? No... mainly because if you put your 557 in it, it's going to be a race truck. So why would I feel bad about it?

BTW - Mr. Smarty Pants, why is an S-trim the wrong blower for my car? What would have been a better choice? I would really like to know what would be better and why, so I can tell all the other people with S-trims what to get since they are obviously the wrong blower choice if you say so.

Chappy, I respect you, I know you don't respect me but to each their own...

As far as the blower.. I'm a huge propanant for Paxtons. The Novi2000 has proven itself several times as about the best all around blower out there. It has very good lower RPM(when pullied down) boost characteristics, but when pullied up is a hell of a race blower. It also has almost rock solid durability.

Now obviously I don't have first hand "I've owned it and ran it" experience, I do have the template for the brackets and for quite a while was going to plasma cut the bracket out and go looking for a head unit. But from a decent friend of mine, he's had great luck with it.. From the period where his race truck was in more of a street trim(pullied for 12-14lbs on a 351), to now where it's pullied for 10k past redline(ran a 6.5@108 1/8th this weekend at a 3400lb race weight in a lightning), it hasn't missed a beat.

At 12lbs of intercooled boost he was able to muster out an 11.01 pass..

So when you combine the fact that it has a good efficiency curve, with pretty good lower RPM airflow characteristics, plus the ability to flow 1700cfm vs about 900cfm for an S-trim, you can see that it's about one of the best all around centrifugals out there.

SEE CHAPPY!!
I told you he was gonna say Paxton...

I should be a god damned mind reader or something..

Chappy
04-26-2004, 02:49 PM
Curt, there are a few reasons why I don't respect you. I don't like how you came on here and acted like the know-it-all of all car knowledge when you first got on the board. You lost all possible chances of getting respect when you threatened to take the club to court. If it weren't for these two things happening I might respect you as well, but I can't/won't because of them.

With that being said... I know that the Paxton is a good blower, and I did look at it before purchasing. There are a few reasons why I didn't get one.

1. Cost - Used Novi 2000 kits are few and far between, normally they go for a pretty good price as well ($2200+), every once in a while you see one go cheaper and it's sold within a few days. You can (and I did) pick up a used S-trim for $1500 or less, normally including extras such as a powerpipe/btm/maf/etc. So cost was of concern.

2. Goals for my car - I want to get 450 rwhp out of the can and then I'm done with it in the power mods. 450 is going to be pushing the stock bottom end close to the limits I want to take it to. Much more and you get in to the block breaking territory, I'm also on the limits of the stock fuel system. So realistically I wouldn't get much of an advantage with a Novi 2000 over an S-trim without spending a metric shit ton more money.

I have all intensions of being done with my car by the end of this year. I'm going to be purchasing a new car here hopefully soon to start a new buildup on. Something with a little more originality then a Fox.

I never said nor did I imply I was. I just know my shit.

Jeff's motor in a lightnig would be a nice little 12 second truck...Very ho hum when you consider theres BD-11 equipped trucks that have run 11.5's...

Why would anyone do that, all the cars you speak of have big displacement to move those over grown piles of shit.

Hell Jeff can't keep his car together long enough to get to a track, much less make a run.. And you consider that a street car? It's *almost* as bad as Fourney's car...

Really, my first H/C package went 40K (110k to 156K) with only changing oil and running 13.2@105.5 (faster then your pile of shit has gone). Then I did a new motor and better H/C still a daily driver and my only car it ran high 12's all day long. Then came the blower after it I did have some problems with it mainly its nasty habbit of breaking oil pump ds. However that problem has been solved (for the reccord it only broke twice but its a bitch to fix so it stayed down for a while). As for it not being a good street car I daily drove it for a while and my GF even drove it to work one day, put that in your pipe and smoke it dumb ass.

My trucks my daily driver.. GO fast is nice and all, but it's number one job is start and run every morning, not blow out water pump gaskets, and if the need be drive to New York tommorow. Your truck is NOT fast, most new imports are faster hell my tahoe is probably almost as fast. Could I drive my tahoe to new york hell yes, could I drive my stang to NY probably once its done it will be driven to st. Louis. Could it be more reliable yes, but I don't have the money to afford that luxury.

I don't have the money for a second car right now.. I'm trying to save the money for this 557 buildup, as well as looking for a fox body..

BLA BLA BLA funny how you brag about reliability with a 15 sec lightning. We will see about reliabillity when the car is done, I am in no hurry, I am about as worried about racing your slow ass truck as I am about racing a school bus.

Oh if you want right now you could run my 206K 4.2 V6 work van that would be a better race then the stang.
