Our first anniversary was spent in Virginia Beach,
Virginia. An old stomping ground of Vicki's that she missed terribly
and a new experience for Brian, who had never visited the ocean before.
June 7th -June11th
We stayed at the Colonial Inn, located right on the
beach, for 4 full days!
June 8th
The highlight of our trip was the ParaSail
Adventure. (Well, it was suppose to be anyway) The motion
sickness medication that we took that morning left us both feeling
slightly "out of it" and while the flight was absolutely fantastic, it
lasted about 10 minutes too long ;-)
We relaxed on the beach, played in the water, went
to a dinner theatre, spent a day at Busch Gardens amusement park, toured
historic lighthouses, and collected sea shells.. We also made time for one
of our newest hobbies...
GeoCaching!
June 12th
After checking out of the hotel, we picked up
Vicki's son (who had traveled to Virginia with us and had spent the time
visiting with his old friends), and headed up north stopping in Washington
DC. We only had about 5 hours to spend, but it was exciting, interesting,
and somewhat sobering to visit the different monuments and
landmarks. While Vicki had been to DC before, this was a new
experience for Joseph and Brian.

June 13th
After visiting DC, we continued farther north to
Vicki's sister's house, for Vicki's niece's High School graduation.
One year down... and counting
