First Hatch: 4/1/2011
Second Hatch: 4/3/2011
Third Hatch: 4/6/2011 Video

A streaming video feed from a webcam mounted inside an eagle's nest in northeast Iowa last week captured the hatching of three bald eagle chicks. The so-called "eagle cam," which was set up in a cottonwood tree last year by the nonprofit Raptor Resource Project, zoomed in close as the third egg started to crack at about 5:30 p.m. on April 6, and viewers watched online as the eaglet emerged over the next two hours, five days after the other eggs hatched. The nonprofit group - which works to preserve populations of falcons, eagles, ospreys, hawks, and owls - says it will try to track one of the chicks after it leaves the nest. Egg in the Jar
Learn how heat affects air volume using a chicken egg. (Kids, ask your parents for help with the matches.)

Egg Drop
Learn about the effects of gravity and how to counteract them by dropping an egg from various heights.

Find out how a chicken egg is a cell with a selectively permeable membrane
Soak a raw egg in vinegar for a weekend. The shell will come off. Then put the egg into dark syrup and watch what happens!
