My research concerns the application of novel concepts in nanophotonics to issues of pressing interest to society, both in terms of basic understanding as well as practical applications.

Particular topics of interest to me are photovoltaics -- the conversion of sunlight into electricity -- as well as thermophotovoltaics -- the conversion of heat into electricity, via the thermal radiation of photons.

I am also greatly interested in highly nonlinear phenomena that occur in the presence of strong electromagnetic fields.

My sincerest thanks go out to the sponsors of my research -- I couldn't do any of this without their support!
